Our Thai customer runs a sheet metal processing business, and needed a machine that can cut large format carbon steel up to 6mm thick, stainless steel up to 4mm thick, and is also capable of cutting brass and copper. When we received these requirements, we suggested the LF-1530 metal cutter with an nLIGHT 700W fiber laser, based on the following information.
The large format series offers economical solutions for industrial production needs, in order to meet large format, high volume and highly efficient sheet metal processing needs. The nLIGHT 700W fiber laser meets all the cutting ability requirements.
When our customer made a 6mm carbon steel cutting sample, they were shown the full cutting process. By using advanced multi-stage piercing technology, users can control the initial height, speed, gas and pressure, power and frequency of the laser, and piercing time, especially for thick metal cutting.
Our customer made a 6mm carbon steel cutting sample at a speed of 1m/minute after completing the on-site training program, as shown below.

The customer also carried out a cutting ability test with 9mm carbon steel at a speed of 0.4m/minute, and compared it to the 6mm cutting result, as shown below.

The nLIGHT fiber laser on our laser metal cutting machine is equipped with a novel back reflection isolation components, allowing for an uninterrupted, full power processing of highly reflective materials. The picture shown below shows copper and brass cutting tests done by the customer.
